A more eco-friendly workplace is something Canadians should strive for all year around.

The following tips will set you on a greener path:

• - Bring reusable mug for coffee and reusable food containers for meals.
• - Start a one-side-used-bin for paper and reuse the contents.
• - Recycle used office supplies.
• - Turn off all equipment when it is not in use.
• - In summer, close blinds in early morning and late afternoon to reduce solar heat gain; in winter, open them to let in sunlight.
• - Enable the energy-saving features on your computer.
• - Commute sustain ably (bike, walk, carpool, use transit, or telework).
• - Use teleconferencing or videoconferencing to avoid travel.
